In my Junior year I took another photography class from the same professor. That was when I made my book 'Randy'.

The book was to include 40 photos all related. One student took a picture of a clock every minute for 40 minutes. Another student, a girl, took a picture of either a vegetable or a piece of fruit, which she placed on the even numbered page and a human organ on the odd page, thus comparing the two images. I.e., a banana and a... use your imagination, LOL.

In my first semester I took a series of photos of Union Station. So, my professor knew my work from that semester.

Once we finished our book we were to come into class and toss our books onto a table and not look at any of the other books... It was supposed to be a surprise critique later. The professor then came in and would pick up a book and the class would critique it along with the him. We had about twenty students in the class so we never got to my book. The next week I had a dental appointment and asked if he could review mine so I could leave. He started looking at the remaining books and then said he couldn't decide which one was mine. I pointed out "Randy". He picked it up and perused same. He then looked at me and said that it was the sickest and most perverted... I was devastated. BUT he then said "I LOVE IT! He wanted me to have it published and get a library of congress card book number.

My being a perfectionist, I wasn't satisfied with the results. I had big problems with the model; she had to remain in the same position for each successive shot. After each shot, I had to move the zipper down then shoot again. It was a very tedious session. She would move her position and move the hand that was on her hip. I finally gave up. The darkroom session was even more intense. I had my bathroom set up as a dark room. I enlarged the male model image to an 8" X 10", printed it and left in in the water bath. I then printed out all 40 images of the female and did the same... left them in the water bath... the bathtub. I then carefully cut out the portion in the center of each zipper photo. Next, I placed the wet male image photo on the wall, set up my camera to photograph each new shot. I positioned the first zipper photo over the male image, and did this for all 40 photos. Next, I developed the film, enlarged each negative to the size of the book, and printed all 40. In the book form the discrepancies weren't that noticeable from image to image, but I noticed. I wanted to do it over again with different models, but never did.

I made a video of the book, albeit not with all 40 photos. I think I enjoyed making the video more than the book. At least I had complete control over the process. In the video the discrepancies are VERY noticeable. WELL, ENJOY!... I hope.
