Jack

"Jack the Baker"

Jack, was a dear friend, and very eccentric. He went to the Renaissance Fair, every day, in a different costume. He taught baking at one of Los Angeles' schools of culinary arts. We would have a party at our house and he would make all the pastries for the party. He had a friend who taught another form of cooking, and he would supply the entrees and the horderves. Jack told the class he was going teach them how to bake for a party of 30. After the class cooked the food, Jack would bring it to the house. His friend would do the same.

How eccentric was Jack? Well, one night around 1:30 am, I decided to drop in for one last cocktail at our favorite watering hole, it was Halloween. Jack was sitting at the bar… alone, an amber colored light was shining down from above his head. He had been to a party dressed as the devil. I sat down and asked him how the evening went. He slowly turned to face me and said, "It was hell".

I was taking photos of all my friends and I asked Jack to pose. I said turn your head right and without moving your head look at me. Jack was a perfect model.
